...there was a book by C. S. Forester published in the 1940s, Beat to Quarters, which charted the adventures of Captain Horatio Hornblower during the Napoleonic Wars. It was followed up by ten more books, taking Horatio through his entire career from midshipman to admiral and beyond.

And then there was a mini-series, first created for British television and then taken to American audiences by way of A&E. The movies covered the first chronological book, some of the second, and most recently the third, and expanded the popularity of the entire series tremendously.

And now it's the twenty-first century, over 200 years after the books took place, and yet modern rencarnations of Hornblower, as well as many other characters in the books and movies, seem to be appearing. This site will chart their adventures through the Naval Academy in Annapolis and the time after.

Full Sail: The Sailorboys Project was originally created the summer of 2002 as a offshoot of The Rennaissance Project. The project has gone through many stages since its inception, and we are currently tentatively moving into version 3.0.
